January 31, 2008It’s with great pleasure I present to you my latest website creation, AnaMariaAriza.com. Ana María is a great friend of mine who asked me to create her website. She gave me full creative control and it was a ton of fun to make. She is an example of someone who hires me because of the style (albeit limited) I tend to work with (black background, cloned photography, Helvetica) and isn’t surprised when the work looks the way it does. When someone hires me specifically because I’m a designer, I often ask, “uh, well, have you seen my website”? That way, they’re not surprised when I tell them, “actually, I don’t draw and I can’t do Flash”.
So if you click on the image below, you’ll be directed to the website:
At first, the neon lights were not on the website. I originally created the site simply with the figures of Ana María on a stage against a black void. It felt a bit empty to me, so since I am inspired by the lighting designer Kevin Adams, I thought I’d add a bit of neon light for some ambiance. I completely forgot that I had put neon on my own site, so it was a bit silly that I was lost for a while when the answers were right under my nose.
Isn’t Ana María so pretty?? She’s got such great clothes! Anyway, that’s all. Oh yes, and it’s also in Spanish, but I have no idea what it means, I just copied and pasted! Enjoy!
